French toast

Another one I love for breakfast or a snack. Honey works fine too instead of syrup, but the syrup soaks into the bread much better and gives it a nice moist texture. The amounts here are for 2 slices as in the picture, in general it's 1 egg per 2 slices.

Ingredients:
1 egg
2 slices of brown bread
Maple syrup
A little olive oil or butter

Cooking:
1) Beat the egg in a bowl while you're heating up the frying pan with the dash of olive oil in it.
2) Dip the slices of bread into the egg, covering both sides of each slice with a layer of it, and put them in the pan.
3) Let them cook on one side for about a minute then turn them and give it another minute before turning off the heat.
4) Take them off the pan and serve with a lot of maple syrup on top. It's best eaten right after cooking when it's still fresh and hot.
