Strawberry, goat cheese and candied walnut salad

Two of my friends used to make this pretty often when I went to their place for dinner, so I tried making it myself. This is enough for 4 servings.

Ingredients:
1/2 of a lettuce
12 strawberries
250g walnuts
3 tbps of sugar
1 block of goat's cheese

Preparation:
1) After washing the lettuce leaves and strawberries, cut the lettuce leaves into thin slices, and cut the strawberries into small chunks.

2) Cut the goat's cheese into small pieces, use as much or as little as you want.

3) While preparing those, have a frying pan heating up on the highest temperature, with no oil on the pan. When it's heated, toss in the walnuts and stir them around for a minute until they start to roast.

4) Before the walnuts start to turn black, turn the temperature to low, and quickly toss the sugar on top of the walnuts. The sugar should start to caramelize within a few seconds. Stir the walnuts around the pan well so that they all get coated in the melting sugar.

5) After a minute when the sugar should be well stuck to all of the walnuts, toss them out onto a plate and try to separate them out as the heat will make them stick together a lot. Leave them to cool for a few minutes.

6) It's all ready, just put a base of the lettuce slices on a plate and put the strawberries, goat's cheese and walnuts over it. I think it's better served without any dressing on top.
